Introduction
The brand was struggling with making profits and wanted to boost revenue. We helped turn things around with well-researched ads and a different media buying strategy. We used ads that people could relate to and changed our success measures to focus more on overall profit. This new approach led to remarkable growth and higher profits.
Research
To grow this brand, we did a lot of research to understand why customers buy their products, what problems they have, and their level of awareness. We looked at what the competitors are doing to find gaps and studied customers’ reviews. We also studied their past ads to know what was working and adjusted our strategies accordingly.
Creative Strategy
Our approach was creative-focused, with a thorough analysis of current angles, pain points, hooks, and the brand’s products. The insights from this analysis were then used to create highly effective creatives. Each was designed with a clear objective in mind and uniquely positioned to showcase the brand’s products as solutions for specific issues.
When we took over, the existing creatives lacked several fundamental conversion principles; for instance, the average hook and hold rate were both below 20%.
So, we systematically organized all videos using our tested formula:
- Engaging hook
- Clear USP
- Social proof
- Addressing objections
- Persuasive CTA
This structured approach allowed us to rapidly produce and test a variety of videos, exploring different angles. We found several winning creatives, with the following results (in the first weeks of testing):
- Spending $14,091 on a UGC video, with an average of 3.05X ROAS.
- Spending $9,876 on another UGC video, with an average of 3.55X ROAS.
- Spending more than $24,000 on other 3 winner videos, with an average of 2.70X ROAS.
Campaign Strategy
We started to test the new creatives in our testing campaign with broad targeting. We created four different ad concepts, and each had three different hooks. Out of these, 5 ads performed really well, and two of them started to get most ad spend, with a great ROAS.
We then rapidly increased the budget every couple of days to scale the testing adsets, and we duplicated the best 2 creatives in the scaling CBO campaign. This allowed us to more than double the budget in less than a week.
At that moment we only had one scaling campaign for several products, all with similar prices and target CPA. The two winner ads were promoting 2 different products, so we decided to duplicate the CBO scaling campaign and create separate campaigns for each of those products.
We then added an ASC and Cost Cap campaign for both products to quickly scale ad spend and revenue and optimized the campaigns budgets daily based on the results.
Interestingly, the Cost Cap campaign proved to be the most effective. We had to keep tweaking the bids, but it let us spend 3x more than the other campaigns and still hit a better target CPA, mainly because it allocated spend during the most profitable days and hours. This success with the Cost Cap campaign, which never really worked well on this account before, really shows how key having good creatives is when you’re looking to get the most out of your Facebook ads.
Conclusion
There are tons of strategies to boost brands to 7 figures, but crafting top-notch creatives and applying solid media-buying strategies are absolutely crucial.
By sticking to tried-and-true ad frameworks, scaling becomes less of a gamble. Even small tweaks to a successful angle can breathe new life into the ad account, and create the winning ad needed to scale. Cost cap campaigns, paired with outstanding creatives, can be powerful tools for scaling effectively.
